House Engine Studio Terms
Version 2026-10-21. These terms are the agreement between Housebets and you, the studio, for building games on House Engine and offering them to Housebets players. Read them to the end: you accept them when you tick the box the first time you sign in, and they apply to every game you upload from then on.
Parties. [Housebets legal entity, company number and registered address — to be completed by legal] ("Housebets", "we"); and the person or company that completes House Engine registration and identity checks ("the Studio", "you"). The person who ticks the box confirms they are the Studio, or are authorised to bind it.
1. Key terms
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Effective Date | The day you tick the box to accept these terms. |
| Term | 36 months from the Effective Date, renewing for further 36 months unless either side gives notice at least 3 months before the end, or the agreement ends earlier under clause 14. |
| Revenue Share | The fee Housebets pays you for the licence of each live Game: 10% of its GGR for a slot, 5% for an original (a game made from a house template such as dice, crash or plinko, or uploaded in a category other than slots), unless your dashboard shows a different rate agreed in writing. |
| Game | Each game you upload to House Engine, with all its rights: its name, art, animation, sound, maths, code and every New Version. |
| New Version | Any later upload of a Game: fixes, changes, updates or new features. |
| GGR | Gross gaming revenue: real-money stakes on a Game minus the wins paid on them, for a calendar month, counting only rounds that have finished. Includes bonus-funded play until the platform tags fund_origin. |
| Network | The websites and brands owned or operated by Housebets and its Affiliates, now or later. |
| House Engine | The studio dashboard, command-line tools, MCP server, SDK, sandbox and pipeline Housebets provides for building and uploading Games. |
| Affiliate | A company that controls, is controlled by or is under common control with a party (50% or more of the shares or votes). |
| Prohibited Content | Content that is pornographic, obscene or unlawful; defamatory, discriminatory or hateful; aimed at or attractive to minors; or that infringes anyone's rights. |
2. How these terms work
These terms, the documentation on the Docs page and any written notice we send under clause 17 make up the whole agreement. Headings are for reading only. "Including" means including without limitation. If a clause cannot be enforced, the rest still applies and we will agree a replacement as close to the original as the law allows.
3. Uploading and review
3.1. You upload each Game to House Engine for testing. The pipeline checks its maths, its bundle and its behaviour in the sandbox, and a person at Housebets reviews it.
3.2. For each Game we decide, at our discretion and without liability to you, to accept it or reject it. A Game is accepted only when we tell you so in the dashboard or by email. Until then we may reject it at any time.
3.3. No Revenue Share arises for a Game that is not accepted and live.
3.4. Every New Version goes through the same checks and review. Accepting one version does not mean we will accept the next. If we reject a New Version we may keep the last accepted version live, and the Revenue Share on it continues.
3.5. We may look at the Games you have uploaded, and their sandbox play, at any time, to check their quality and progress.
4. Your licence to Housebets
4.1. When a Game is accepted you grant Housebets and its Affiliates an exclusive, worldwide licence, for the Term and as clause 14 sets out after it, to:
a. host, integrate and run the Game on the Network and let players play it;
b. use the Game's name, art and materials to advertise and promote it;
c. provide customer support, fraud screening, responsible-gambling tools and payments for it;
d. obtain and keep any certification or regulatory approval the Game needs in a market where the Network operates, and sub-license the Game to the operating company of a website where a regulator requires it; and
e. sub-license these rights to Affiliates, hosting providers and the operators of Network brands.
4.2. Exclusivity. While a Game is live on the Network you will not license, sell or offer it, or a game substantially similar to it, to anyone outside the Network.
4.3. Code. House Engine keeps a copy of every upload. Within 3 days of our written request you will also give us the source code of a Game as it then stands, so that we can keep it running if you cannot.
4.4. Name. We may use the Game's name. If a name would conflict with another game, a trade mark or a market's rules, we may ask you to change it or display it under another name.
4.5. What you keep. You keep ownership of your Games. You may reuse your own general tools, engines and libraries that were not built only for one Game.
4.6. Our changes. If we change a Game ourselves (clause 14.5), we own what we add.
4.7. We may remove or deactivate any Game at any time. We will tell you why unless a regulator, the police or the law prevents it.
5. What you agree to do
5.1. Outcomes come from the engine. Every outcome is drawn by Housebets' server from the maths you upload. Your Game only shows it. You will not put code in a Game that decides, predicts or changes an outcome, a stake or a balance, or that sends player data anywhere.
5.2. Testing. You will help us test each Game before it goes live and after every New Version, on the browsers and devices the Docs list, at your own cost.
5.3. Errors. You will tell us straight away about any error you find in a Game, and fix errors in line with good industry practice. If a Game shows one thing and pays another, we will pause it until it is fixed.
5.4. Policies. You will follow the Docs, the upload checks and any written policy we give you, including our responsible-gambling and marketing rules.
5.5. Identity. You will give us the documents we ask for to verify who you are, who owns the Studio, and that your payout wallets are yours. We may end this agreement at once if you do not, or if working with you would break the law or harm our reputation.
5.6. Your accounts. You are responsible for everything done with your studio's logins and API keys. Keep them safe and use two-factor sign-in.
5.7. New games. Before you offer a new game similar to one of your live Games to anyone else, you will tell us and give us 30 days to say whether we want it on the Network on these terms.
5.8. Operations. From the day a Game goes live, Housebets runs it day to day: marketing, customer support, fraud screening and payments.
6. Promises each side makes
6.1. Each of us promises that it has the power to enter into this agreement, that it will comply with the law, that it is not facing claims that would stop it performing, that it will not knowingly damage the other's reputation, and that it can pay its debts.
6.2. You also promise that:
a. you own, or are licensed to use, everything in each Game: its art, sound, fonts, names, maths and code, and you have the right to grant the licence in clause 4;
b. you have every licence and consent your work needs;
c. each Game works as its rules and documentation describe;
d. any open-source code in a Game is used under its licence, and none of it is under a copyleft licence (such as the GPL) that would require us to publish our code; and
e. you will carry out your work with reasonable skill and care.
7. Game standards
7.1. When it goes live, and while it is live, each Game will:
a. work fully, and meet the technical requirements in the Docs;
b. play exactly as its maths: what the player sees matches what the engine drew and paid;
c. contain no virus, malware, tracker, back door or other harmful code;
d. contain no Prohibited Content; and
e. not be substantially the same as a game already on the Network, including a reskin with only cosmetic changes.
7.2. If a Game falls short of clause 7.1 we may pause or remove it, and you will fix it quickly at your own cost. If it is not fixed within a reasonable time we may end the licence for that Game. Its Revenue Share stops from the day it is removed.
8. Getting paid
8.1. The rate. For each live Game, Housebets pays you the Revenue Share of that Game's GGR, every month.
8.2. Currency. GGR is worked out in US dollars to the cent, with each coin converted at the rate we keep for that day (USDT and USDC count one for one). We pay in USDT or USDC, one dollar for one coin, to the payout address you set in Billing.
8.3. When. A statement for each month appears in Billing on the 1st of the next month, and we pay it by the 15th.
8.4. Never in debt. If a Game's GGR is negative in a month, nothing is paid for it that month and the loss is carried forward against the same Game's future GGR. You never owe Housebets money because of a losing month.
8.5. Before we pay. The Revenue Share is payable only once the Game is live, its upload has passed review, and you have completed the identity checks in clause 5.5.
8.6. Numbers. GGR is calculated from the engine's own round records, which you can see in Reports. Our records are final for working out the Revenue Share.
8.7. Wallets. It is your job to keep your payout addresses correct. Change them at least 14 days before the end of a month for the change to apply to that month's payment. We are not responsible for a payment sent to an address you gave us.
8.8. Taxes. The Revenue Share includes any VAT, sales tax or similar tax. You are responsible for your own taxes.
8.9. Engine fees. We may charge a fee for hosting and running Games on House Engine. We will tell you in writing at least 30 days before any fee starts or changes.
8.10. No promises on traffic. We do not promise any uptime, placement, category, promotion or number of players for a Game.
9. Protecting the rights in your Games
9.1. Each of us will tell the other straight away about any copying of a Game, or any claim that a Game infringes someone's rights.
9.2. You decide what action to take and you run it at your cost. If you do nothing within 14 days of our asking and the problem affects our business, we may act ourselves; you will help, and we may use the Revenue Share due during that time towards the costs, paying back any we recover.
10. Indemnity
10.1. You will defend Housebets and its Affiliates against, and pay the losses, damages and reasonable legal costs from, any claim that a Game, or our use of it under these terms, infringes someone's intellectual property.
10.2. If a Game infringes, you will at your cost get the right for us to keep using it or change it so that it no longer infringes. If you cannot do so in a reasonable time we may remove it.
10.3. You will also cover Housebets and its Affiliates for third-party claims arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of House Engine, any harmful code in a Game, your negligence or misconduct, or your breaking the law. If a Game contains harmful code, you will repay the Revenue Share paid on it.
11. Limits on liability
11.1. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11.2. Otherwise, Housebets is not liable to you for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or opportunity, however it arises.
11.3. Housebets' total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the Revenue Share paid to you in those 12 months.
12. Confidentiality
12.1. Each of us will keep the other's confidential information secret and use it only for this agreement. This includes these commercial terms, player data and numbers, unreleased games and anything marked confidential.
12.2. This does not cover information that is public through no fault of the receiving side, was already known to it, was developed independently, or must be disclosed by law or a regulator. Where the law requires disclosure, the receiving side will, if allowed, give the other notice first.
12.3. When this agreement ends, or when we ask, you will stop using our confidential information and return or destroy it within 10 days.
13. If you sell your Games
13.1. If you plan to sell the rights in a live Game, or receive an offer for them you are minded to accept, you will first tell us and give us 30 days to make an offer.
13.2. If we make an offer, you will tell us within 7 days whether you accept it. If you do, we have 60 days to agree the details with you exclusively. If we do not make an offer, or we cannot agree, you may sell to someone else, but not on terms much better for the buyer than our last offer.
13.3. Whoever buys a Game, or your business, must agree to be bound by these terms.
14. Term and ending the agreement
14.1. These terms run for the Term in clause 1.
14.2. Either of us may end the agreement at once by notice if the other becomes insolvent, or commits a serious breach and does not put it right within 7 days of notice describing it.
14.3. We may end the agreement at once if you breach these terms, act in a way that damages Housebets' reputation, if a regulator or a change in the law requires it, or if control of the Studio changes without our consent. We may also end it at any time with 30 days' notice.
14.4. You may end the agreement with 30 days' notice. Your Games stay live until the notice ends, and the Revenue Share earned until then is paid.
14.5. After it ends. We may either remove your Games, or keep any Game live and keep paying you its Revenue Share for as long as it stays live. If we keep a Game live, the licence in clause 4 continues for it and we may maintain and update it ourselves.
14.6. If the agreement ends because you licensed or sold a Game outside the Network in breach of clauses 4.2 or 13, we may keep the Game live under a permanent licence and the Revenue Share stops.
14.7. Suspension. If you breach these terms, or do not fix a breach or error within 14 days, we may pause the Revenue Share. A Game may stay live while paused, and GGR during the pause does not count.
14.8. Step-in. If you do not fix an error or meet an obligation, we may do it ourselves or have someone do it, and recover the reasonable cost from the Revenue Share.
14.9. The agreement ends on its own if none of your Games goes live during a Term.
15. Data protection
15.1. Housebets is the controller of players' personal data. You will have no access to player personal data, and your Games must not collect any.
15.2. If you ever need access to fix a Game, you will act only on our instructions, as a processor under UK GDPR, and tell us at once about any request or complaint you receive about player data.
15.3. We handle your own account data as our privacy policy describes.
16. Law and disputes
16.1. These terms, and any dispute about them, are governed by the law of England and Wales.
16.2. We will both first try to settle a dispute in good faith: between our teams within 5 business days, then between senior people within 14 days. If that fails, the courts of England and Wales decide it.
17. General
17.1. Notices. We send notices to the email address of the Studio's owners and show them in the dashboard. You send notices to [legal notice email — to be confirmed]. A notice by email takes effect on the next business day.
17.2. Anti-bribery. Each of us will follow anti-bribery and anti-corruption law, including the UK Bribery Act 2010. A breach is a serious breach.
17.3. Force majeure. Neither of us is liable for delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control. If such an event stops a Game working for more than 60 days, either of us may end the agreement.
17.4. No waiver. Not enforcing a right does not give it up.
17.5. Relationship. Nothing here makes us partners, a joint venture or each other's agent.
17.6. Assignment. You may not transfer this agreement, or subcontract your obligations, without our written consent, which we will not unreasonably refuse. You may assign your right to be paid. We may transfer this agreement to an Affiliate or a buyer of our business.
17.7. Survival. Clauses 4.5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14.5, 14.6, 16 and 17, and any other clause meant to last, survive the end of the agreement.
17.8. Changes. We may update these terms. We will tell you by email and in the dashboard at least 30 days before a change takes effect, and ask you to accept it. If you do not accept, you may end the agreement under clause 14.4 before the change applies.
17.9. Third parties. No one else has rights under these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
17.10. Insurance. You will keep insurance a prudent business in your position would hold, during the Term and for a year after.
17.11. Electronic acceptance. Ticking the box to accept these terms is your signature. We record when and from where you accepted, and which version.
